During my final year of school at Friends’ School Lisburn, I enjoyed a week of work experience with CBRE in Belfast.  As a 17 year old, I did not yet know the direction that I wanted my career to go in, however, this was the first step to kickstarting a brief career in real-estate during college.

 Working with CBRE, I spent time looking into the commercial real estate. My project for the week of work experience was to assist the team focusing on the sale of a business complex. At the time, the complex was virtually empty of businesses and the team were working on revamping the space to make it more appealing to modern day businesses such as coffee shops, boutique hotels, gyms, etc. Today, the business complex is exactly how the team envisioned it when creating the branding and marketing package. Even though I was only a very small link in this chain, it was satisfying to see professional work turn from an idea and a plan into a long-term reality.
