High Country Charitable Foundation

During my time at Engel & Völkers, I volunteered with a locally supported charity, the High Country Charitable Foundation. The vision of the foundation is to provide for needy Avery County residents and animals by supporting local public charities and other private foundations. The charity’s goal is to keep expenses as low as possible with the majority of funds raised going to those in need.
The High Country Charitable Foundation is committed to maintaining their outstanding culture of living by three core values: community involvement, excellence and value.
My voluntary role at the High Country Charitable Foundation presented the opportunity of taking on the role of their Digital Marketing Manager. The charity was lacking in terms of social media presence, Search Engine Optimisation , keywords and Google ad campaigns. When working for the High Country Charitable Foundation, I obtained the Google ad grant for non profits. Throughout the summer, I ran a highly targeted Google ad campaign to specifically reach individuals falling into the exact demographics, locations, income group and interests that the charity was seeking. Not only did this Google ad campaign serve the purpose of raising awareness of the charity and the good that they have been doing over the years in our community, but was also an ideal way to raise more money through a digital platform. The introduction of Google Analytics then led me to discover our exact target market and use it to grow the charity.
Whilst at the charity, I grew all online aspects of the foundation including raising awareness and very importantly, enabling me to play a small part in improving my own community. Thousands of people and animals in Avery County rely on the amazing work that the Foundation-supported charities are engaged in, and numerous charities have personally told me how the High Country Charitable Foundation has been the backbone to their ongoing success. This has truly given me a great sense of fulfilment and meaning knowing that I have been able to contribute by bringing a different skill to the Foundation.
