Re: Matthew Armstrong Recommendation

I am writing this letter as a recommendation for Matthew Armstrong.  It has been my privilege to be associated with him as a student in a few of my classes within the School of Business and Management at Lees-McRae College.  Prior to my current position of Associate Professor of Business Administration, I was a Senior Vice President of Finance for Citigroup for over thirty years where I held many responsible management positions.  Consequently, I feel experienced at evaluating the skills and leadership attributes of individuals.

Matthew proved to be an outstanding student in my classes placing at or near the top in grades. Always attending class prepared and displaying a professional appearance and attitude, his innovative ideas distinguished him from other classmates during topical discussions.  Discussions were frequently complex and required an acute intellect; Matthew was always up to that challenge.  In group settings, he was dependable and leader-like.  Always striving to improve his understanding of the course material, he posed very insightful questions as a clear indication of his depth of analytical capabilities.  Matthew is a self-starter and can be counted on to deliver a top quality product.

I am comfortable in saying that I believe Matthew Armstrong is of outstanding character and would be successful at any endeavor he tackles.  If you need to speak with me personally, I can be reached at 828-898-8755 or via email at weaverg@lmc.edu.

Sincerely,

Dr. Glen Weaver

Letter of Recommendation for Matthew Armstrong

Matthew Armstrong has been an excellent student and therefore, I highly recommend Matthew for your organization.

Throughout the past three years, Matthew Armstrong has consistently shown a strong desire to learn and succeed. He has consistently exceeded in all areas of his coursework, including the ability to communicate and give presentations with confidence and apply critical thinking skills to various business areas. Beyond his studies, he has proven to be a dynamic leader within, but not limited to, our School of Business and Management, the collegiate cycling team, and most recently, in our greater community.

Matthew Armstrong exemplifies the student that any Dean would wish to have in their program.  He is driven, personable, outgoing, organized, and eager to continue bettering himself.  Matthew’s work ethic is unlike most college students.  He brings so many strengths to a job or class yet is always aware that he has much to learn. The internship that Matthew was completed provided him the opportunity to network with fortune 500 leaders, create sales pitches and marketing campaigns for his international real estate office, and participate in closing million-dollar deals.

Matthew Armstrong is soon to be a graduate that represents LMC well and can do the same for your organization. Like most young professionals, Matthew still has growth and development ahead of him. However, it has been exciting to watch how he has grown each semester and taken on all challenges in his career and academic development. He is a driven and career-minded young professional.  Please note that I do not say that lightly.  He is exceptional and continuing his education will further his confidence in attaining his career goals.

Matthew Armstrong continues to impress me with his knowledge, skill, and dedication to his work. I am sure you will find him to be a student whose talents will only shine further through your graduate program. I hope that you will grant Matthew Armstrong admission to your university. Feel free to contact me if you require further information.

Sincerely,

Amy Anderson, M.B.A.
